1000 split three ways is 333.333… Rounded down to cents that is 333.33 each, which adds up to 999.99 — one cent short.
That cent cannot vanish, and it cannot be invented either: someone has to pay it. FenPay always gives it to the people listed first — 333.34, 333.33, 333.33, which is exactly 1000.
Always giving it to the first person is a deliberate choice: the same input has to produce the same result every time. This page runs the same algorithm the app uses to settle real groups, not a second copy of it.
